Growing up in the ultra-luxury custom home business in Houston, Thomas Dorsey found his calling at a young age. On weekends and summers, Thomas accompanied his builder-father to job sites and spent many hours working alongside his mother, Sylvia Longoria Dorsey, an accomplished designer. After graduating from the University of Texas, Thomas joined the family business, Dorsey Custom Homes.

In 2012, Thomas and business partner, Mark Coerver, started Live Oak.  Live Oak is a construction and development company focused on quality, single family urban developments in Houston, Texas. 

In, 2020, Thomas started Dorsey Builders. In his 20 years of experience, Thomas has completed over 100 homes. Top-quality materials and a high level of craftsmanship are a consistent presence in his work, as seen in his extensive catalog of beautiful custom built homes and renovation projects.

Thomas is a Certified Graduate Master Builder and a Certified Green Professional. He served on the Board of the Greater Houston Builders Association’s Custom Builders Council. He is a proud dual citizen of the United States of America and the United Mexican States.  He is happily married to his wife, Kristin, a real estate agent, and together they have four children.
